New details have emerged about the voice and motion capture cast for the upcoming remakes of two iconic Capcom titles. The Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake and the Resident Evil Zero remake, reportedly codenamed "Chamber," have attracted fresh talent alongside familiar voices from previous entries in the franchise.

Stephanie Panisello is expected to return as Claire Redfield in the Code: Veronica remake, continuing her role from the Resident Evil 2 Remake as well as the CGI films Infinite Darkness and Death Island. Alongside her, Jeff Schine will likely reprise his role as Chris Redfield, last seen in Resident Evil Village. Additionally, Craig Burnatowski is expected to return as Albert Wesker, reprising the character from the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The cast also introduces new faces, including British actor Matthew Castle making his video game debut as Steve Burnside, Claire's companion and a major character in Code: Veronica. Vincent Kerschbaum, known for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Company of Heroes 3, is reportedly cast as Rodrigo Juan Raval, Umbrella's security chief who could have an expanded role in this remake. For the Ashford twins, Andrew Wheildon-Dennis and Lizabeth Helian are respectively taking on Alfred and Alexia Ashford. Other actors, Phoebe O'Donovan and Lucy Aarden, have been linked to undisclosed roles, hinting at potential new or expanded story elements.

In regards to the Resident Evil Zero remake, details are more limited. Jon McLaren is rumored to continue his role as Billy Coen, and Hallea Jones, familiar to audiences from Netflix's Locke & Key, may star as Rebecca Chambers. Although not officially confirmed, Craig Burnatowski's involvement as Wesker is anticipated, given Wesker's original appearance in Resident Evil Zero.

The development of the Zero remake reportedly shifted to Capcom's Division 1 following a reboot earlier this year, while original development teams M-Two and K2 have turned their focus to delivering downloadable content for Resident Evil Requiem. New content is also said to be in progress for Code: Veronica, though specifics remain under wraps.

While these casting and development details come from insider reports and remain unconfirmed by Capcom, Resident Evil Veronica is aiming for a release next year with the Zero remake expected in 2028.

For those interested in broader gaming industry news, the Sony CEO recently confirmed there is no set release date for the PlayStation 6, highlighting the ongoing anticipation for next-generation consoles.

Fans eager for groundbreaking gaming experiences may also want to watch for the Phantom Blade Zero pre-orders opening ahead of its October 2024 launch, showcasing the diversity of upcoming game releases.

These remakes underline Capcom's ongoing commitment to revitalizing beloved franchises with both returning talent and fresh voices, making them eagerly awaited entries for Resident Evil enthusiasts worldwide.
