Apple is preparing to reveal its latest flagship lineup, including the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a possible foldable smartphone dubbed the iPhone Ultra. These new devices are anticipated to debut at an event scheduled for September.

While an Australian report recently proposed a keynote date of September 8, this seems unlikely due to Apple's established launch timing traditions. Historically, Apple avoids holding a keynote immediately after Labor Day, which falls on September 7 this year.

More consistent with Apple's patterns, the keynote is now expected on Wednesday, September 9. Noted tech journalist Mark Gurman also concurred with this date after initially favoring the 8th. The event will likely be held at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern, and 6 p.m. U.K. time in the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters. Apple typically announces the keynote date about two weeks prior, with August 26 being the anticipated announcement day.

Apple usually opens pre-orders on the Friday following the keynote; however, with Friday, September 11 falling directly after Labor Day, Apple appears to be shifting the pre-order date to Saturday, September 12. Customers eager to secure the new iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max may start placing orders then.

The much-anticipated iPhone 18 Pro is expected to be available for purchase one week later, on Friday, September 18. While there is some uncertainty about the simultaneous release of the foldable iPhone Ultra, it is likely they will launch together.

Alongside the new iPhones, Apple will roll out the latest iOS 27 update on Monday, September 14. This update supports a broad range of devices, from the iPhone 11 through the iPhone 17 series, as well as other compatible Apple products. The update release is expected to occur around 8 a.m. Pacific, 11 a.m. Eastern, and 4 p.m. U.K. time.

The iOS 27 beta version has already revealed the full lineup of the iPhone 18, including insights on the foldable Ultra model, reflecting Apple's ongoing innovations in smartphone design and functionality. Apple continues to meticulously refine its launch schedules and ecosystem updates, and these dates offer a strong indication of what consumers can expect from this fall’s releases.

Similarly, rumors surrounding the foldable iPhone have been growing, with expectations of a 2026 debut and a significant price tag, detailed in Apple’s First Foldable iPhone: Rumored 2026 Debut and a Hefty Price Tag.

Buyers and enthusiasts can look forward to a typical Apple launch rhythm with a keynote on September 9, pre-orders commencing September 12, the software rollout for iOS 27 on September 14, and the devices hitting the stores by September 18. These carefully coordinated dates underline Apple’s commitment to streamlined releases and user-friendly software support across various device generations.

Stay tuned for more updates as the event approaches, and keep an eye on official announcements expected on August 26.
