Honkai Star Rail version 3.8 is set to launch on December 15, 2025 for North American servers (December 16 for EU, Asia, TW, HK, and MO), bringing a transitional chapter that bridges the Amphoreus saga and the upcoming Edo Star arc in version 4.0.
The Dahlia Joins the Roster
The update introduces The Dahlia (Constance), a new 5-star Fire element character following the Nihility path. As a member of the Everflame Family within the Annihilation Gang, The Dahlia serves as a Break Support character designed to synergize with Firefly and other break-focused teams.
Her unique kit allows allies to deal Super Break damage without completely depleting enemy toughness bars, making her a valuable addition to break compositions. The Dahlia's signature Light Cone, Never Forget Her Flame, increases Break Effect by 60% and provides crucial skill point recovery.
Multiple Character Reruns Expected
According to leaked information, version 3.8 may feature reruns of several popular characters including Firefly, Fugue, Boothill, Rappa, Lingsha, and Yunli. The likelihood of Firefly appearing alongside The Dahlia's banner is particularly high, given their strong synergy.
New Calamity Boss Sparks Speculation
A mysterious new boss called the Calamity Boss will debut in 3.8's storyline. Leaked data suggests the enemy bears resemblance to SAM's suit (Firefly's mech form) but with corrupted red markings. Listed under the Swarm faction in game files, this boss has sparked theories that the Swarm may corrupt Firefly, setting up major story developments for version 4.0.
What's Not Coming
Despite the new character and boss, version 3.8 is not expected to introduce any new Relics or Planar Ornaments, reinforcing its role as a transitional update before the major 4.0 release.
The update will run until January 26, 2026 for NA servers (January 27 for other regions), giving players approximately six weeks to experience the new content and prepare for the journey to Edo Star.
